The industry of video games is mostly built on franchises. weither its pokemon or Metal gear or old or new as they dominate the store shelves. Altough a huge amount of people may complain that theres too many sequel, but many of the greatest games in history are a part of a larger franchise, and to honour the best of the best the super small team of GEEKSHIVE ( seriously theres only 3 super lazy people who tries their best to deliver some stuff and thangs to you*ahem ahem awesome walking dead refrence* ) gives you the best selling gaming franchies.
TETRIS :
HALF-LIFE :
When Mr Freeman started shooting in 1998 he proved that there's more to the First Person Shooter than running and gunning mindlessly. The series saw a huge change when it made a big leap to the 32 bit era with Symphony of the night. It was unquestionably one of the best jaw dropping franchises.
METROID :
When Metroid was released way back in 1987 it introduced us to a strong female main character The game was beloved not only for its intense shooting mechanics, but also its expansive alien planets that could be explored in a nonlinear fashion. Hardcore fans were wary of this shift until they were placed inside Samus's formidable powersuit and saw the world through her visor. Mario has been entertaining us for more than three decades now and the franchise is still going strong
This ERA introduced us to new open world franchises and as well as unique gaming mechanics, this ERA gave us phenomenal MMOs and Sandbox games, this ERA not only improved the graphic but it also saw a increase in attention towards the story and sheer beauty. This ERA will always be remembered as the time when games became more than just games.
FINAL FANTASY :
Final Fantasy saw a huge number of twists and turns in its brief history but it was no doubt the best RPG franchise of all time and then came the time when it changed as it re designed itself it wasn't that tiring action-halting nature or the strict turn-based combat anymore. Final Fantasy XII was a huge revelation. It was not that oh you have to square up on opposite side of the screen and deliver a blow and then awkwardly retreating to your position to hopelessly wait for the next round. Finally we had the taste of battling in real time, and also on the world map you wouldn't stumble upon invisible monsters. If you were about to encounter a monster you could see it in all of its ugliness glory across the landscape, which was undoubtedly one of the best thing that could ever happen to that franchise as it added a whole new level of experience.

GOD OF WAR :
God of War is humoungusly inspired from ancient Greek Mythology, it lets us create havoc as the character Kratos has a score to settle with the God of War ARES, it is a gruesome game and all the blood-spattering action is not merciful, but this franchise transcends mere gore and proves how viscerally charged a mythological framework can be when its used as a playground for dramatic reinterpitation.
METAL GEAR SOLID (SONS OF LIBERTY) :
The massively popular franchise Metal Gear Solid regenerated itself in the early 2000's by releasing Metal Gear Solid 2, and it doubled down on everything that made the series with its instant laser precise gameplay, top shelf work on voice over and a mind bending storyline. The director Hideo Kojima executed a beautiful fusion of cinema and gaming that encapsulated the post 9/11 paranoia of survellance and censorship. And the often criticized bait and switch of the lead character toyed with the audience's expectations of a sequel.
HALO :
If youre a human male between the age of seven to hundredandten the possibility of you spending more than a billion sleepless and trash talk filled nights playing HALO is way too damn high when the game was released in 2001 for Xbox, our hero Master chief saved humankind, and most probably Bill Gate's gaming consoles in the process. This game has a perfectly balanced multiplayer experience and has been copied by almost every other game
